Introduction
JobMatch is an apprenticeship marketplace connecting apprentices and employers. This guide will help you understand how to use the platform effectively.
What is JobMatch?
JobMatch simplifies the apprenticeship journey by providing a platform where:
- Apprentices can create profiles, showcase their skills, and find employment opportunities
- Employers can discover qualified apprentices, post job cards, and manage their workforce
For Apprentices
1. Sign Up
- Click "Get Started" in the header navigation
- Select "Sign Up"
- Fill in your details:
- Full name
- Email address (must be a permanent email, not a disposable one)
- Password (minimum 8 characters)
- Select "Apprentice" as your account type
- Click "Register"
- Check your email for an OTP (One-Time Password) and verify your account
2. Create Your Profile
After signing up, you'll be redirected to create your apprentice profile:
- Personal Information
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Location (state/region)
- Trade Preferences
- Select the trades you're interested in
- Add your skill level and experience
- Education & Qualifications
- Add your educational background
- Upload certificates or qualifications (optional)
- About You
- Write a brief bio highlighting your strengths and goals
- Upload a profile photo
- Click "Save Profile" to complete your profile
3. View Matched Employers
JobMatch automatically matches you with suitable employers based on your profile:
- Go to "Job Invitations"
- Browse through matched employers
- Click on an employer card to view details
- You can "Accept" or "Reject" matches
- Accepted matches will move to your active connections
4. Browse Jobs
- Navigate to "Matched Jobs"
- Browse available job cards posted by employers
- Filter jobs by trade, location, or employer
- Click on a job to view full details and requirements
5. Take Quizzes
JobMatch offers quizzes to help assess and improve your skills:
- General Quiz
- Go to "Dashboard" → "Quiz"
- Answer questions to assess your general knowledge and aptitude
- Complete the quiz to receive a score
- Trade-Specific Quiz
- Navigate to "Dashboard" → "Trade Quiz"
- Answer questions specific to your chosen trade
- Demonstrate your trade knowledge and skills
- View Quiz Results
- Go to "Dashboard" → "Quiz Results"
- Review your performance and scores
- Track your progress over time
- Quiz results help improve your match score with employers
Tip: Higher quiz scores can increase your visibility and improve your matching with potential employers.
For Employers
1. Sign Up
- Click "Get Started" in the header
- Select "Sign Up"
- Fill in your company details:
- Company name
- Email address
- Password
- Select "Employer" as your account type
- Click "Register"
- Verify your account using the OTP sent to your email
2. Create Your Company Profile
- Company Information
- Company name and ABN
- Business address
- Contact phone number
- Industry Details
- Select your primary trade/industry
- Company size and workforce details
- About Your Company
- Company description and culture
- Upload company logo
- Click "Save Profile"
3. Add Job Cards
Post apprenticeship opportunities to attract qualified candidates:
- Go to "Dashboard" → "Job Cards"
- Click "Create Job Card"
- Fill in job details:
- Job Title: e.g., "Electrical Apprentice"
- Trade: Select from available trades
- Location: Job site location
- Description: Job responsibilities and requirements
- Experience Level: Entry-level, intermediate, or advanced
- Start Date: Expected start date
- Click "Post Job"
- Your job card is now visible to apprentices
4. Find Matched Apprentices
JobMatch's matching algorithm connects you with suitable apprentices:
- Navigate to "Matched Apprentices" in the sidebar
- Browse through apprentice cards matched to your job requirements
- Click "Ignore" to skip an apprentice
- Click "Send Job Invitation" to invite an apprentice to your job
- View apprentices who accepted or rejected your invitations under "My Apprentices" in the sidebar
